Aim of the association :
We help homeless children and talibé children in Senegal. Most of these children are slaves, forced to beg by and for a religious master. Their situation perfectly matches the definition of slavery. Their rights are permanently denied, and they have no choice but to obey their religious master who will not hesitate to hurt them if they don’t bring him enough money. Their future looks very dark, for they have no professional qualifications or knowledge when they eventually leave their master. Our centres offer them a place to rest, to play, and to get medical care, clothes, food, and a bit of the tender and loving care they need. Our latest project is to create a dressmaking training course so that at least some of these children will get a qualification and job opportunities. The Senegalese government’s action toward addressing the problem of slave-children has been limited, therefore organizations have a major role to play in fighting this plague.
