Aim of the association :
ANAK - Aid to Indonesian Children is a non-profit, apolitical and non-denominational charity organization. Since 2003 ANAK has been helping to educate more than 250 children from poor rural areas of the island of Bali, Indonesia, from primary school to university level. This is made possible by the financial support of more than 300 sponsors, donors and partners. Our Vision ANAK believes that educated and healthy children are the basis for a more just world, not only in terms of material comfort and safety, but also in terms of freedom and the rights and dignity of people. We dream of a world in which even the poorest children can access education and knowledge that will give them the freedom to choose their life and break the cycle of poverty and dependence. Our Mission On one hand, ANAK supports the education of Indonesian children from poor rural backgrounds; on the other, it encourages children to open up to the world and develop their creative potential through various cultural and artistic activities. Finally, ANAK pays close attention to the children's health. Our Programs Schooling: ANAK makes it possible for children and adolescents to study, from primary school to university thanks to Sponsorship (1 godparent finances 1 godchild) and Scholarship. Culture and Arts: ANAK has built and equipped 2 Community Centers in 2 villages, where children can enjoy libraries and free extracurricular classes (foreign languages, computer, traditional dances, etc.). ANAK also regularly organizes or participates to poetry, dance, litterature or journalism contests. Health: ANAK organizes medical check-ups every 6 months for all the sponsored children and also takes care of health care and hospitalization if needed. ANAK runs campaigns on hygiene too.
Gifts usage :
ANAK's only income are membership, sponsorship and donations. Membership covers the administration expenses in France. Sponsorship cover all the costs related to the godchildren' schooling (school fees, uniforms, school supplies, clothes, transportation, health). As for the donations, their main purposes are: - financing the Scholarship Program - financing the University Students, as well as some of the Senior High School godchildren whom costs are too high to be entirely covered by their godparents (due to the fact that ANAK has to rent rooms and pay for the food since there is no Senior High Schools near the children's villages). - financing the extracurricular classes and activities held in the Community Centers - financing the medical care - buying books for the libraries - covering the running costs in Indonesia Please note that ANAK is officialy recognized in France as of "General Interest", which means that the whole accounting, including the one of ANAK's local office in Indonesia, is controlled and legalized in France by an independant professional accountant. |
